MA(Psych), DClinPsych, MNZCCP, EMDRAA
Amber (Ngāti Whakaue; she/her) is an exceptional Clinical Psychologist based in Tauranga. Amber specialises in neurodivergence including ADHD diagnosis. She also has expertise in suicide prevention and postvention, Māori culture, resilience, and psychological support for weight loss surgery.
Amber has a calm and gentle approach. She views wellbeing holistically and draws from her experience across public and private settings, including in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, and loss.
Amber's seminal doctoral research explored how Māori whānau experience the loss of a loved one to suicide, including ways of coping, barriers to coping, and how resilience can occur through such an experience of loss.
When she isn't at work, Amber loves doing Pilates or Yoga, spending time with her husband, kids, and dog, being out in nature, or relaxing at home. She also enjoys watching reality TV (her guilty pleasure!).
